From NCR we have: What happens when religion becomes devoid of spirit and awe? by Bill Tammeus Perhaps something like fundamentalism has infected faith ever since humans first felt the religious impulse. By fundamentalism, I mean a false certitude about eternal things and no space where humility might dwell. "Indisputable credal formulations." That's a perfect description of the Roman Catholic Church's position on the Ordination of Women. Some of you will say that it is not "Credal" for the church to limit the roles of women. In fact, the Vatican has stated their position in a rather "credal" way - there shall be no debate - no discussion of ever ordaining women. The current management team at the Vatican has made it crystal clear. Women are not welcome to lead in the Roman Catholic Church.
Church leaders hide behind Canon Law when they want to put a veneer of justice on their policies. These man made church laws have little to do with justice and nothing at all to do with love. We ask you, church leaders, don't be fundamentalists, don't be religious but not spiritual, drop the fixation on Canon Law, lead with love. ORDAIN WOMEN. Comments are closed.
